I won't go into some big long review like my past reviews. Instead I will offer the photos and click the image for the full size image.

135 F2 is Very nice addition to my home to say the least. Has very marginally quicker AF, better bokeh, colors, and is much smaller & light weight and most important... F2!

Tamron holds it's own however. These are no way controlled. Simple went outside, stood in one place and snapped some shots. They got two chances and I picked the better of the two. Enough said.

I have used both lens on separate occasions before, but I am still unsure under what situations would one lens produces better images than the other.

Only thing I want the 135 for is it's F2 and small size. I want 35/85/135 to walk around with instead of two heavier zooms.

They both produce awesome photos.!

First off, gig'em, assuming that's your Texas A&M flag. I followed your first review of the Tamron 70-200 and enjoyed it. Thanks for posting the comparison pictures, very close indeed. I have the Canon 135 and love it. I've considered the Tamron 70-200 VC but the 135 so far does everything I need for now. I'd love to have the VC on the zoom, but I also appreciate the smaller size of the 135.

Here is another test I did. 135 @ F2 and the Tamron at 200mm 2.8. I backed up to match as close as I can the frame size. Glad to see the Tamron/Canon are super close.

I'll probably sell the 135. Almost too redundant. AF is so close not even funny and IQ is only slightly better on the Canon. Nothing to go home about. These two images here are very close:
