Here is a treatment that I've been experimenting with lately. I call these 'SoftScapes' (Soft Landscapes). This is one example, not the best that I've done, but sufficient to demonstrate the process.

Some folks will like this, others will not. Commentary quite welcome.

The original file, no processing except conversion to .jpg format:

The processed file:

Processing was performed using Oloneo - the primary treatment is accomplished by running the 'Detail Strength' slider far to the left; other sliders used to some extent, image cropped. One can also use the 'Old Photo' pre-set to get the basic effect, then adjust from there.

G'Jim c):{- ... 2x 50D (Both Gripped), 2x 7D (Both Gripped), 2x 5D Mk II (One gripped), 1x 60D, assorted glass (10-800mm), sundry accoutrements.
The beginner clicks the shutter and says "Let's see what I got." ... The experienced photographer thinks "How can I capture what I see?"

This looks like a 'vaseline smeared on the outsides of the lens filter' effect.
The left hand one-fifth of the image and the lower right hand corner seem overdone in comparison to the rest of the image.
