Went to run some errands. I knew it would take me down a familiar road that had a bunch of horses. Only problem,,,,no where to pull off and get a shot. Right at the horses is a sharp almost 90 degree bend in the road. So as I was going, I had the camera set and was going to stop in the middle of the road and take a few quick ones. Had the windows down and all. As I was getting ready to stop, I looked in my mirror and saw another vehicle coming behind me. Maybe 1/8th of a mile. So I decided I was not going to stop. Still had camera in hand, slowed to go around the curve. That is when I noticed quick movement out of the corner of my left eye. I quickly looked and noticed this fellow running across a yard wide open. In one motion, I hit the emergency flashers so the car behind me would see me and stop, hit the brakes, brought the camera up to my eye and whistled one time. He also hit the brakes and looked right at me. I fired one shot, and he was gone! A very rare sight in this part of the country a red and grey fox. Especially during the day. I think it is actually called a gray fox.
The reason I always take my camera everywhere
