The actual lighting differences. If the lightng hadn't changes, AWB would have been consistent as it is in daylight (see this post by OP).

I agree with your statement, but I'm curious if differences would have been as great if a cwb setting was used. Couple of DSLRs, number of lenses and other stuff... plenty short on talent.

Unfortunately it's normal thing with standard gym lights. Even though it might look "pretty consistent" for your eye, it really isn't for camera. So color shifts are unfortunately normal thing about you can't do anything... except start shooting with strobes PhotoSI
