I've been thinking about this since my children started their sports--tennis & track--season. Should I sell my T3i and one of my 5Dc bodies to fund a 1D3? Do you all think this is a good move for me? I'll probably have to buy a 70-200mm lens, too, right?

Any comments/tips/suggestions?

Thank you! :)

I sold my 7D for a 1D3 last week. Still getting to grips with it, but it's a heavy beast of a camera and a really good one at that. I'm reserving full judgement until I've shot with it till my arms ache but for now I'm happy.

Paul, I've read the issues with AF. Does your 1D3 suffer from the AF problem? If so, did you have to send the camera in to Canon?

If you're looking to shoot sports, I'd definitely sell the t2i and 5dc for the 1d3. It's a fantastic camera with IQ comparable to your 5dc IMO. It just works at a pace that your other cameras cant keep up with.

Thanks, Midget. :) I'm sure there are other benefits to switching to the 1D3, but the quick AF and fps are definitely a must for sports.

Not sure if you're set on the 1D3, but I think 7D would be another good option for sports. And it is also 40% lighter than the 1D3, which would make a big difference in weight if you want to use it with the 70-200 lens.
