Heya,

Went birding in Cedar Key on a nice cold morning, with my old 70-200 F4L and a `junk' Rebel.

Oh,

And while not a bird, cats are the second most common thing in Cedar Key, so some obligatory locals:

Anyone not familiar with this place, it's a crusty west coast (gulf of mexico) Florida town. A clammer/oyster town. Very rustic and low key. Full of birds, cats, and fish. Great place to go, without going far, and there's never a giant multitude of people around.

Very best,

Great shots. Is this near key west? Thinking of a key west vacation in August. Any advice?

Doesn't make me wonder. I went out with my 1Dx and new 600mm II and could barely get a shot of BIF worth a damn. I need any advantage I can get. ;-)a

Cedar Key is in Northwest FL, nowhere's near Key West. But apparently two POTN'rs live there - MalVeuX and EveryMilesAMemory. In fact, Pat Bonish (EveryMilesAMemory) and his wife, Cindy, own a small motel there. You might want to reach out to these folks - it could be a worthwhile visit for you. Perhaps you could squeeze in an extra day or two on your trip.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

BTW, MalVeauX, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. These are nice shots - thanks for sharing.
