I have been using the Canon Premium Matte Paper on my IPF6300 and I am slightly dissatisfied. I have some other RC papers that are noticeably brighter white than the Matte. Now I know that matte and satin/glossy are two different beasts, but I would really like to get the brightness (and punch and contrast) that the RC papers offer but with the matte finish.

Does anyone use a bright matte paper that they can recommend?

Preferably available in a 24" roll.

Rad

I don't know how the brightness compares to the Canon or RC papers but I use Breathing Colors' Optica One and it is a magnificent paper. Colors are quite vibrant on it and Black & Whites are fantastic. It is quite a heavy paper & it takes a bit to flatten it prior to mounting.

I haven't coated any prints on this paper but it is supposed to increase the vibrance of color images.

I am using a HP Z2100 pigment printer which generates its own profiles but I notice that Breathing Color do have a profiles listed for your printer including utilizing the IPF print plug-in.

Be worth getting a sample pack at least.

I did a plot of the gamut of Optica One using Breathing Color's profile and did a comparison to sRGB.

The printer certainly has an advantage in the yellows & blue/greens vs sRGB and an advantage in the yellows over my Z2100. I'm not sure why, perhaps the new Canon Lucia Yellow is a bit more saturated than the HP Vivera Yellow. It certainly looks like a fine printer.

I ended up buying a roll of epson hot press bright because of the price/quality value. For special prints I prefer hahnemuhle William turner or canson BFK rives

WOW! A ton of info there - great blog. It will take me longer to digest it than it took you to write. Cudos!

Check out the Red River Paper site, get a few sample. Been using them for over a decade, excellent product and customer service.
