But how do you cut an egg in 6 quarters? Wouldn't you need to start with one and a half eggs?

Hello ! Hope you had a good night ! :D

It's very simple, you just have to do like this:

You take the small machine / You put the hard-boiled egg inside it

You put the blade in place on the top / You press down

And you obtain 6 quarters / or 8 slivers with the other blade (the brown blade)

Now, about your photo:
Are the drops made of glue ?

That's a nice-looking device, but it cuts an egg into sixths. I have something similar that cuts an apple into eighths, with metal blades, not wires.

I believe the drops were glue or something like glue. They were attached to the surface.

Eh eh, I understand ! :D
I didn't use the right word. I used the word "quarter" not thinking that in English this necessarily involves 4 parts and only 4.
In french the word "quartier", translated in English by "quarter", doesn't necessarily mean 4 parts, it may mean divided in several parts.
When we want to specify that there are 4 parts we use the word "quart" which by definition means 4 parts and only 4.

I have to improve my English .... Sorry !

So, it may be glue.
Is this surface made of textile ?

Now I have learned something about French!

Is this surface made of textile ?

It is not textile.

I think it's laminated paper and the top surface is plastic.

It will be a few difficult to clearly explain due to my poor English level. I hope to be understandable...

I think to a strip of paper.
At one end of the strip these drops of glue and you press them on the other end in order to make a ring and to close it.
A few like for the plastic/paper wristbands placed on the wrist of the newborn babies in the maternity wards, wristbands on which are written the name of the babies.

Here is a complicated explanation which, may be, has absolutely no link with the right solution...

It isn't one of those. :D

The crop shows a small part of a manufactured object. Before the object is ready for use, the yellow bits are hard and dry. They were put in place by a machine, and they have a function for some users of the object. I myself can't use them.

A crazy idea: As you can't use the object, and as you are an adult, may be it's to stick a baby diaper ?

I can use the object, but I can't use the yellow bits. Some adults can. As soon as I saw the yellow bits, I knew they weren't for me.

The yellow material isn't there to stick anything together.

If the photo had been taken from a different angle, you'd recognize its subject immediately.

Where this object was, there were many of its kind nearby, all exactly alike. They're mass-produced.

I'm scratching the top of my head, which is the sign of a great perplexity.
It remain no many hairs at this place of my head, I'm afraid there will be no more in a few minutes ! :D

More clues, then.

Most people can't use the yellow things, although they know what those things are for.

There's a historical connection to France.
