An auto mechanic would very likely use one, but probably doesn't keep it with the with the tools he or she would commonly use on automobiles.

In this case, my use of the word "could" was because, most people, would not think of this as a hand tool, even though it most certainly is one.

No, not necessarily. A bathroom is a convenient place to keep and use it, but other rooms could be more convenient for some people. I personally use mine at my bed side.

No. This version may be used more by males, but females use items that have the same purpose as this item just as much as males.

in my opinion, a male is probably more likely to use this item for other uses than it was specifically designed for than a female is likely to use it for that type of purpose.
