I'm currently running a tokina 11-16 on a 7D but i know if i upgrade to full frame ill have to sell the tokina, buti love it, whats the most similiar lens to it for a FF? or just a really good wide angle in general, I wouldnt spend more than 5-600 on a lens either, I got the tokina for $440

Canon EOS R5, RF 15-35 f/2.8, RF 70-200 f/2.8, RF 50mm f/1.2

Since you are looking to replace the 11-16 I assume you want an ultra wide. For that price range the 17-40 is your best bet in a canon lens.

Heya,

You can use the Tokina at 16mm on a Full Frame.

But if you feel the need to sell, then look at all the full frame 16/17mm options.

That's if you want ultrawide.

If you just want wide, look at the 21mm Zeiss.

But as you said you want "best" followed by "$600" budget, you need to realize you're not getting best anything with a budget that constrained. Maybe be a little more creative with the language. Otherwise, you're going to get recommended a bunch of lenses that are $1k or more.

Very best,

I've been shooting a 17-40 on my crop for about a year and just picked up a FF body, its a great wide angle with a nice range. They go used in the price range you're looking to spend.

Canon 17-40 is what I use and I like it, but it's F4 ~$550
Other options are Nikkor 12-24mm F2.8 @ ~$1400 - obviously use an adapter.

If you really need F2.8 consider Canon 17-40mm + Bokiyang 14mm F2.8 ~$250
I have this combo and it works for me.

I have tried Sigma 12-24mm and my copy was bad. Old copy is not sharp at all compared to VII.
BUT, after using it... I didn't miss 12mm compared to 14 and 17 so... YMMV...

All used prices.

You can go for the Tokina 16-28mm. f2.8. It's a bulbous, heavy thing but the IQ is very good - supposedly better than Canon's 16-35L. I've rented it and given me good results. The Tokina's priced nicely at about $700 new.

Unless the Tokina in smaller FL has elements protruding from the mount, you can use it in FF.

I have a Sigma 8-16. The vignetting is serious at 8mm but I can crop it to a FOV of 12 mm in the 5DIII.

I haven't tested for sharpness, distortion etc. just the feasibility of using it on a FF

Lots of people use their 11-16's on Full Frame cameras. Why don't you try it and see if you like it?
