I really like the unique angle you took of the first two pictures; I prefer the first one over the second (I just think the twisted wood is more interesting than the whole log) and the last shot is really beautiful too. Great job!

The exif on the beach shots was nothing too surprising.
iso 100
f8
1/250sec

I sometimes hand blend these by taking one raw file and duplicating it. I then use one at the in camera exposure and one darker. This can be done in PS, lightroom enfuse or photomatix. Or shoot brackets and then use all three, +3, 0 -3
