Another installment from my trip to Olympic National Park.

I'll start off with a couple done with the canon 200-400.

The wildlife didn't cooperate with me much on this trip, but I did get a couple shots of seagulls, and I got my first duck shot as well. The seagull is taken at Rialto Beach, and the duck in the Hoh Rainforest.

This next one is one with my Zeiss 50 MP2, also taken in the Hoh Rainforest, along the main trail leading up towards Mt. Olympus. Wide open at f2

This one is one of my favorites, taken with the Canon 100L Macro actually. It is the Sol Duc River Valley, taken from on top of Hurricane Ridge. It took 5 shots blended with different white balances to get the trees to balance with how overly warm the sky was, but I love how it turned out.

These last two are from Rialto beach, one vertical panorama with the 24 TS-E II, and one horizontal. For those very familiar with this area, the vertical panorama is missing something you might notice. No, the tree on top of the rock didn't get blown away haha. I cloned it out, because my framing was off slightly, and I clipped the top branches, I decided it looked like a better/cleaner composition without the tree after some suggestions from other members here.

Great shots I especially like the last one, I like how you got the sun peeping round the edge of the rock giving the warm glow and contrasting shadow.
I did a trip to the Olympic Nat forest and fell in love with the area, I will be visiting again

Thanks!

I can't wait to get a chance to get a trip in every season out there, and maybe another next winter, there is so much to do in that area.

Some day I just have to get up that park. The third shot in the forest is very nice. I also like the horizontal one at Rialto.

#2, the seagull shot, is awesome. I really like all of them, but that one stands out!

Great captures. I think the wettest, stormiest times are the best and really impart the rain forest feel. Makes for difficult photography, but that's the beauty of it.

The dry late summer months just don't do the area justice, fog, and mist, and dew and everything damp is the correct environment

Very nice! I gotta get back up there. My only trip there was in May 2008 I think, too much snow on top and too much fog down low. Except for Cape Flattery which was awesome.

I was expecting tons of snow, I was worried that I didn't have snowshoes, but out of know here it happened upon one of the driest winters in a while.

Very nice. Definitely on my "must go" list.

You wont regret any trip here, no matter the weather, there is somewhere that will offer good shooting, as long as you are flexible with your gear and 'style' or subject you have in mind.

The seagull picture you shot absolutely perfectly! The last two, also excellently composed and truly gorgeous. Great series, really well done.

FYI: "Fitness Freak" is also known as "Amber" outside of POTN.

Thanks! That seagul was one of only two animals that bothered to show themselves the whole weekend, after I paid for the 200-400 rental; I'm glad I at least got a few good shots of wildlife
