I've been hang out for this lens, but gave in to temptation and bought the 85L. I suspect it will be announced any day now!

Question is. Would you get buyers remorse if Sigma did announce it? :)

Learning. Slowly,but surely...

I can't believe I'm saying this but: I hope not yet! S24/Art and 135/1.8 Art OS should come first. Then I fully approve 85/Art . I'd prefer Zeiss introducing their new Otus 85/1.4 first, and Sigma can learn from them just like with 50/Art :D

Yes, most likely.
I am still frustrated about the 120-300 sport being announced just after I bought the 120-300 OS.

But, I do like what I see from the 85L, so until we see an art85, who knows.

Part of the reason I have been holding out on an 85 prime is because it's a tough choice between S85 and 85L

For FF?
I'll grab that for sure, I don't like my EF16-35 II, it's the worst performer in my kit.

I would love an 85. I have the sigma 35 1.4 and canon 135 f2 so I think it would fit perfectly :) I know the 50 was recently announced (if I had a 24mm instead of 35mm I would be very interested), so it might be a while until we see any solid developments.

I have the 135L and S35 also, and for most outside work, these 2 work well together.
135 is a bit long inside for me at times, and gets hard to hand hold when light is dimming. The 70-200 covers these times well, but its not a prime (aperture, size).
The 85 should fill this gap for me.

Many say the 50 is close to 35 and not required with a 35/85 combo, I agree, you can manage with out it, but to me there is quite a big difference, similar, when I need 24, the 35 is not wide enough.
I will get the S50, each lens has its benefits.

it is just a rumour at this point.

While I can't wait to get the 85 Art.. I kind of am more interested in when they update the 10 - 20 options for the I guess contemporary line? I'd get one of the 10 - 20s now but not got the money and my gut says when they update it it'll be worth buying.

I'm trying to be patient and wait for Sigma 85 ART instead of getting Canon 85 1.8 even though its pricing is a lot more attractive and it's definitely a nice lens to have. I played with it a bit at camera store.

I'm still debating whether to go for 50 Sigma just announced over 85 but I already have my cute pancake 40mm 2.8 I got for $129 shipped from B&H in Dec.

Accessories: 430 EX II flash
Wishlist: Sigma 50mm ART
