check whether a camera is stolen

I bought a 5D camera off amazon recently and I did get the camera, with nothing else, no charger, not even the camera cover. It's not unusual considering it's age but it makes me worry about the source of it. Is there a place that I can check whether the camera was stolen?

Thanks

I would do a search for the serial number online. If it was stolen, it is likely that the owner posted about it somewhere trying to get it back.

There is also stolencamerafinder.com. But that is more to find who has been posting images from that camera. No way to really tell if someone had already tried looking for it.
