I'd love to see our Yellowstone, Oregon, and Nevada too...I'm just too far away and currently trapped in the ugliest place in the US right now. I do have Big Bend National Park 3 1/2 hours away (although I haven't had a chance to go there but once and that was for just over 24 hours), it's not as conventionally beautiful as Yellowstone or Yosemite, but it's beautiful in it's own way. And I definitely don't envy you guys your prices though. ;-)a

I challenge your claim to living in the ugliest place in the US. I'm surrounded by mud/snow covered fields to the horizons. You're 3-1/2 hours to a gorgeous NP. I'm 3-1/2 hours from Chicago, which is a cool enough place, but it's no NP.:p:cool:

Challenge accepted! :D Here's a link (start from the back and work your way backwards since that's where more of the "landscape" pictures are) to an album I started shortly after moving here. Plus, if anyone is sneaking across your "border", they're fellow Americans. If you check a map, you'll see I'm 3 miles from Mexico, out in the Chihuahuan Desert. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of beautiful deserts, this just isn't one of them. ;-)a

Fitness Freak, I know what you mean when it comes to living in a n area that isn't very picturesque.

I travel frequently and so get the opportunity to see some places to add to my gallery. One thing I have learnt is that you can find beauty in every place. Look at how lifeless and plain antarctica and the deserts are....and yet there are photographers who have captured the most stunning images of these places. One thing I find an issue for anyone in photography is losing interest in your local surroundings. Why? We see them everyday and they just don't appeal to us anymore. When I was on the coast recently, I caught up with a friend who was bored of the coast...he lives there!!!!

Get out and about, take ride, drive or walk and look for beauty........it is there. I had a look at your photos on the link you provided and they look cool. I am not near a desert or near cacti, you would get some amazing night exposures with silhouette cactus in the foreground!!!!!!! Have fun!!!!
