After purchasing my first feeder, I saw little to no activity after 2 weeks of placing it. I had the lucky encounter with the Pileated Woodpecker on the nearby Palm, and had seen some Blue Jays and Cardinals come and take a look, but none of them went for it. So I decided to move it to what I thought was a better location, and to my surprise within an hour it was a feeding frenzy. The last 2 days has been a joy to watch.

Cardinals, Blue Jays, American Robins, Red-bellied Woodpeckers and Yellow-throated Warbles are loving it. I haven't had the chance to really sit and capture some great shots yet, but I took a walk outside to today and snagged a few of the Robin, Woodpecker and Warbler. They like to grab the seed and fly to the trees (the Robins don't appear to eat the seed, but LOVE the little red berries we have in the brush). Still learning they're behavior, but so far they don't seem too bothered by me 10-15 ft from the feeder!

C&C is welcomed! Thanks for looking

Nice to see you off and running Patrick!
You've put together a nice set with the peekaboo Warbler and especially the Red-bellied. A bit tough to pull great detail from the shade as with the Robin, but you did pretty well with it.
You titled these "feeder shots", but since there's no feeder in frame you really didn't have to say anything. Trust me....we'd have been none the wiser!

Nice shots Patrick, really like the RB Woodpecker,I can see already that you are going to do well with bird photography.BTW, I'm am very envious of your weather, had forgot what a RBW looked like next to green leaves.
Agree with Steve, would never have known there was a feeder near these birds and good job with the contrasting light.

Thanks everyone for the very encouraging feedback! Funny enough, I titled it "feeder shots" because I had a couple the woodpecker on the feeder that I was going to post up but I missed focus a tad so I decided not to :)

Nice job! We won't see the Robins again until spring when they can start looking for earthworms! I posted a few Robin pictures and videos here last summer. They are on my Flickr page if anyone wants to see them. I really like your Red Bellied Woodpecker.
