I've had some gear from the US that was reasonable, and others where it was almost uneconomic. Got a temp controller from Hong Kong last week & they didn't charge shipping at all! some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

graphs indicate the filter will do a better job than relying on the one built in , but I think I'll wait & see.
