Is the Red ring for for recording video and the yellow for photo? Do they also make a FE (fisheye)?

BuyBid currently have one listing but I can't figure out which one they are selling. Is this a AWA 14mm for photo or for video or it is fisheye. I sent the Seller a message but have not hear back. Thought?

Red ring version is more adapted for video - declicked and toothed focus/aperture rings, for use with focus pull systems.
Optically they are identical (even actual aperture is the same - just noted in different standards).

The one in the add looks like the photo version, even though it has red ring.

14mm 2.8 is a ultra-ultra wide angle, not a fish-eye.

Samyang/Rokinon do make a very good and affordable rectangular fish-eye lens, 8mm f3.5 (also 2 versions) - but it's for crop camera's. Mounting it of FF camera is possible, but then you will have a circular fish-eye. The first version has an undetachable lens-hood, and you will see it on FF camera. In the new version you can take it off.

Thanks Anthon. Please click on the link in my 1st post and take a look at photos under Image Gallery. It shows images and title as FE 14mm. That's where I got confuse.

This is still a photo version, because the aperture is noted in F stops (F2.8) - the cine version has T stops (T3.1). It's the same thing - F-stops do not take into account the internal loss of light (due optical elements not being completely transparent), while T stop does. T-stops are used for cine lenses, because it's better for matching different lenses. In photography it's not important, so they use f-stops.

Also, no toothed aperture, and focus rings.

Red ring doesn't denote a difference between cinema vs. stills, that difference is easily discerned by looking for the toothed focus ring of the cinema lenses. Samyang seem to be moving away from the gold ring and putting the red ring on everything. Let's face it, red rings are sexy.

I am on my second Rokinon 14 because i stupidly dropped my first of which had a yellow ring. I emailed Rokinon USA to see if i could get it repaired but all they could do is give me a break on getting a new one as they don't do repairs. So i sent them $215 plus shipping and i got a new red ring 14mm; everything appears and performs the same as the yellow ring version.

I have read that Samyang is coming out with a 10mm version for crop bodies that has a new nano coating which is supposed to be better than the old coating. I was hoping that maybe my new lens has it as well, but unfortunately the Rokinon website says nothing about a new coating so i doubt it. :(

This is for photos.

I have the newer red ring HD version of the 8mm fisheye with removable hood and it's optics are said to have new coatings but I see no difference from this and the older version.

regardless this is a great price so I bought one myself. Can't wait to get it.

Yes.

hyperfocus on 14mm full frame and 5.6 is 4' so technically everything from 2' up should be in focus.

somebody check my math, maybe i'm wrong.
