First time shooting an event like this. Comments please.

Being an amateur photographer wannabe, I would be delighted if I got shots like this. I do not think either of them are Sports Illustrated quality, but you did capture the intensity on the faces in both shots. I assume you used your 70-200 lens. How much cropping did you do? Can you share your setting? ISO? Shutter speed? F stop? Keep shooting.

The Australian Open is great for action shots, I went a couple of years ago. All the sun can make getting the exposure right and managing shadows hard work so you've done well, especially the first shot. The first shot would have been better earlier in Ivanovic's swing but that's always the challenge with sports. The second photo looks like the focus isn't quite there, however agree on the intensity of the shot. Cheers Andrew
