yes, a pretty awesome bit of kit
back in the 1980's I and several other amateur astronomers did get a chance to get aboard
the KAO, Kuiper Airborne Observatory. It also flew missions out of Christchurch, NZ
SOFIA replaced KAO

Wow that would have been an incredible experience...How did you get the opportunity to fly aboard the KAO? Got any pictures of it?

Does the engines sound with Spanish accent?
Anything called Sofia has to do something with Sofia Vergara or isn't it?
