I have considered trading my T3i for another 50D? Video use on the T3i is a convenience not a nesscessity, I can shoot raw video with the 50d and ML. The picture quality seems fairly similar, the T3i seems to do slighty better in low light. The T3i isn't quite as weather proof as the 50d, which poses a problem from time to time. The biggest killer for me having the T3i is the frame rate vs the 50d. There are just times that I would make better use to the weather and frame rate of the 50d vs the T3i. I really like the feel of the T3i, especially having a hand injury. I like the T3i flip screen, but just feel like I'm missing out on the odd moments that present themselves not having my 50d. Any comments or thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

While I might make that trade for my own purposes, I'm not so sure you should. The weather sealing is improved, but its still not even close to being weather resistant. The frame rate is higher, but not really fast enough that you can use burst mode to shoot sports and capture the key moments. I much prefer the controls on the XXD series, but if you decide to go that route you might want to at least hold out for the 60D which is a clear upgrade with fewer tradeoffs.

Agreed with gonzo in that I would look at a 60d as well, but for what you seem to be looking to do the switch looks like it would be favorable.
The 50d is larger and heavier than the T3i, so make sure you handle one before going through with it if you hand is a concern.

I have owned the 50d before, it was a great camera. Would like to have the 6.3FPS when the time presents itself. I'm looking @ the 60d also. Thanks!
