I love spreading my photos on instgram but I hate all those really low quality programs that prevents instagram from cropping your photo and I guess it looks okay, but this guy I follow on instagram has these amazing canvases that are made via photoshop according to him, how do you do this? Im guessing its something really simple but I can't figure it out, thanks!

You could ask iggz or do a search for something like this: http://www.shirleybehindthelens.com …s-drop-shadows-using.html (external link)

Not everyone is interested in sharing their "secret recipe."

He probably did use Photoshop for some or all of those images. By not giving further details, the photographer has indicated that he doesn't want to give further details.

Not being an instagram user, I don't see anything here that would fit my idea of an "amazing canvas". What are you trying to do exactly?

I don't really care about the photo it self, its just the way he lays them on, normally instagram crops photos horrendously, but he presents the photo in a really interesting why, like how theres a shadow casted behind it and how its floating

I use square it, it doesn't degrade quality.(That I've noticed)

I use 1280 images before sending it to square it.

Its just a shadow. Right Click Layer > Blending Options > Drop Shadow > adjust..
He may have put his photo on a white background ..

You have to play around with the direction, size, distance and spread. This is all he is doing to the photos, no hidden magic here.

You have to expand the canvas to include the shadow.

make a new document in Photoshop 1936X1936. place image in the center on it's own layer. Add drop shadow.
