My day at Rolex 24

This was my first time going to a race of this type. Upon arriving I saw tons of people with cameras, I seriously have never seen so many long lenses. I mostly did motion panning shots that day because what better way to show the excitement then with a picture showing the speed. Without media access or a enormous lens I was restricted to certain spots. Hopefully by next year I'll have media passes or a longer lens.

I'm in process of editing the majority of my pictures but I couldn't wait to post at least one shot. All the pictures were taken with my 7D, 70-200 2.8L(non IS) and no tripod or monopod.

Enjoy :)

Superb pan! You might want to resize your pic before it gets linked, however.

I was standing next to one of the infield stands, as it got colder everyone started leaving.. I left at about 11PM.

"linked"???

I just resized it down, should I go smaller?

Mods will edit your photo to only show a link and not an actual photo if the long side is bigger than the maximum of 1024 pixels. The new resize is perfect.

Great shot. I am working through my photos as well. Hopefully I'll have a handle on them by the weekend.

Being outside the fence sucks but I was surprised by how many options there were for us poor folks without a blue vest. It would have been even better if my step stool had been 3 inches higher.

Great shots. That first one is a prize!!

Also, you must have been right down from us. We were right by the blue top viper when they stopped for the wreck with Memo.
