Tomorrow i'm planning to sell my 5D MKII for a 6D, anyone did the same and satisfied?

The reviews seem in favour of the 6D everywhere (ISO, newer functions,...)

i did it before
sold the 5D3 for the 6D
the 6D photos clear and shiny but i didnt forget the strong body of 5D3
and when i used the 70-200 f/2.8 on the 6D i realized that i need the 5D3 again
but i lost some money for all
then i bought the 70D to go far away from the FF bodies

then i will say sell it for the 6D

I made the change and somewhat satisfied.

High ISO is significantly better and easier to clean.
Minimum shutter speed using AV is my dream come true, but still somewhat crippled.
Auto ISO goes all the way to 25600, good for ETTR
Light weight
better live view
much more polished firmware
silent shutter is to die for

on the flip side

no joystick is a pain, I used that quite a bit.
1/4000 max speed is annoying at times.
Not sure how good magic lantern support is on the 6D, but on the 5D2, it was a gamechanger. Really want that feature back, but the current version for the 6D scares me.

in all, it's not a full upgrade, certainly doesnt feel like an upgrade. I did it because the price was right. Made money on the mini upgrade.

I've heard that when comparing raw files the 6D is about one stop better than the 5D2 and a half stop better than the 5D3. Is that true?

I chose the 6D for it's best noise performance over the 5DII, and compared to the 650D it is night and day.
I have not used the 5DII myself, but I am very happy with my 6D. If you desire to shoot outside wide open you need a good ND filter.
As stated about the 1/4000 shutter is not as fast as the 5DII's.

If you like to use fast primes in street photography, that 1 stop loss is pretty huge. You would have to get an ND filter to reduce the lighting by 1 stop, which isn't expensive, but just annoying. It can be expensive if you have alot of primes all taking different filter sizes though, I guess. I would love to see 1/16000 come back!

I didn't see enough benefit for myself to switch from a 5d2 to a 6d. At the time, the trade would have cost me $500, and there is just not enough of a difference to justify that price.

Now there are 6d's on the used market so the price difference has narrowed...but my sites are firmly set on the A7R...which is a huge upgrade from the 5d2 and 6d for the type of photography that I do.

It was an excellent upgrade for me. I think if you are doing controlled studio work with ample light, you won't see a difference... from 100-1600 iso, it's the same.
If you doing street photography, weddings, or anything that involves non controlled light where you need to bump up the iso to adjust to natural lighting, it's a great upgrade.
I'm also not a big dude with big hands and I travel quite frequently, so the diminished size was important for me.
Also, if you need that fast shutter for action/sports photography, then the 6d might just not work at all for you.

I would not say it's better for everything - and it's not clear to me that that is what you are saying.

When I had the 5D II, I got better results in certain situations.

As to the 5DIII, for low light stage work (dance recitals, clubs, theatrical productions), the AF and low light capabilities of the 5D III absolutely blow away the 6D in my experience with both during the same week of about 10K shots. My keeper rate on the 5DIII was far greater than with the 6D. I would never consider using the 6D again for any such moving subjects in a low light venue.

I will be very curious on your thoughts on the Sony as well. It finally looks like a Sony product I might want to buy.

that's about right. This is in raw, I only shoot raw. There's even an improvement in low iso. Less susceptible to banding when shadows pulled.
