I see the T3I prices are bottomed out and I'm betting they are close to being discontinued. (Great prices if you need a spare body) what prices do you think the 60d will be when it hits bottom? When would you expect this to happen? If it ever hits $399 new I will pick at least one up.

500 this year and when the 80D comes out the 70D will fall to 500 eventually. Progression of technology.

It will continue to drop over time. A year from now I wouldn't doubt you could find a 60d refurbished for $450 and a year after that it will drop another $25, and year after that you'll be asking "should I pick up a 60d as a backup now that they're going for $350".

^ exactly. New models come out every year or so. The price of the T3i body sets the standard for rebels.
It was replaced by the T4I and then by the T5i but still sells on Canon's website as a new body.

I was able to pick mine up for $399 after rebate on Cyber Monday + 32gb + generic case + Pro-100 + Paper.
It happened to be a typo :P but BuyDig still honored it!

I got mine used with a shutter count of less than 3000 for $475 shipped. Just watch the used market for the right one.

Not for the XXD line. It had been about 18 months between models, but the 60D was the current model for 3 years before the 70D.

I'm sure eventually you'll see them being given away for the loyalty program, but that might take a couple of years haha. They've dropped quite a bit since the 70D, and I'm assuming even more so if a 7D successor comes out.

I just get email notifications from Canon Price Watch and set alerts for prices. It happen to work out perfectly, grant it with a little luck and persistence on the follow through.
Here's the notification I got:

*Not an endorsement just stating it worked for me.
