Resourceful Robin

The robins have been chowing down on the berries in my backyard the past two days. Yesterday, some of the snow on the rook started to melt and several of them were drinking the melt water. There were 10-12 of them at one time drinkng. Of course, they also left behnd a lot of poop.

That's a neat shot. I watched a chickadee drinking from the end of a melting icicle last year. This year I provide them with a heated water source.

I have heard of birds leaving the heated water all wet and freezing to there next perch!!

I like that, shows the adaptability of our common birds. Can't wait to start seeing those orange bellies here.

Nice catch. We often see robins here in Florida in late winter but only for a few days.
