My apologies for a lack of posting over the last few months due in part to major exterior renovations to my home. I knew it'd be time consuming, but WOW did I still have a steep learning curve!
I was able to find some blind time prior to the project and managed to capture a few first-timers during the Fall migration.
1. I think my last post included the misidentification of a Summer Tanager. I won't be fooled twice as shown by this thirsty female Summer Tanager.
2. Interesting that about 2 weeks later came this thirsty male Scarlet Tanager in almost complete fall plumage. I'm not proud about the birdbath in frame, but this is the first capture I have of a Scarlet Tanager.

3. I also managed to capture this Palm Warbler passing through; another first for me. I'd happily entertain alternate IDs as my Warbler ID skills admittedly are limited.

4. Although not a new addition for me, it is the earliest I've ever seen a Hermit Thrush come through.

5. The real "stars" of either Fall or Spring migrations are the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. This year I had plenty of females.....

7. ...and 1st year males, but no adult males. That in itself might be a first!

I'm very glad to have been able to nab a couple of new additions this past Fall prior to the start of my renovations. I hope you've found some images here you've enjoyed and will feel comfortable leaving comments/critiques as I welcome both. Thanks as always for stopping in for a while.
