One of the benefits of living in this area my whole life, is knowing where all the top secret crazy local spots are located. :D During our last deep freeze, I knew it was time to finally capture this location, which I have been waiting for a long time.

The area is like a giant cave with this huge waterfall crashing down into the depths. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the waterfall is well over 100 feet high. Of all the waterfalls I've ever visited, this one has the most magic. The water appears to come out of nowhere because of the extreme angle of view from doing a vertical panorama.

This photo was taken in late 2013, but I decided to redo it with a different crop to show more of the bottom rocks and ice. I applied a technique that only allows light to show from reflections on the ice and water. Everything else falls dark.

I also used a much different style of processing than usual, to mimic my old-school film darkroom style from a long time ago.

I wish I could tell people where it is, but there are some hardcore people who want to keep the world from finding it. I can see why, as it would get crowded out pretty easily.

It took me 20 years of driving past the access point to actually find it one day.:lol:

Isn't that Kamikaze Falls on the Mount Teneriffe Trail? I have an aunt that lives in Washington and I visited it once. Looked very similar if it's not. I guess it's also called Teneriffe Falls?
