Dear all,

I am about to buy a used 135 / 2 L (Buying date around 2004 - datecode not checked yet).

Were there any changes during the long production time of this excellent Canon lens? I know something about that they changes the switch design (old: not flat - new: flat). Is there anything else? Is there any problem in general buying a lens that is so "old"?

Best regards,
Hendrik

With the 135L I would think there would be no problem. Mine is probably that old and an outstanding lens. If your camera body has AF micro adjustment, that should take care of any front/back focus.

From what I remember, the legendary Nikon F which had an incredibly long model run had slight changes made during its production run. Changes no one actually knew about at the time.

Funny you should bring that up. I pawed a 135L a couple of weeks ago, and I had the distinct impression that something was different in the build from the copy I had purchased and then sold a few years earlier...
