Hahaha I wouldn't say sorry... more like I would say not ready for it.

I just got one 2 days ago... and sadly I'm just not that caliber of fotog just quite yet.

I shot with the 5Dc for a long time and now have the 5D2 and I need to learn the camera a bit more to shoot with this lens.

I found the 85 F1.4 to suit me fine as of now. which is like somebody else said extremely faster in focusing and produces amazing images!

I would say its like the Porsche 911 GTR TURBO looks great in anybody's hands but unless you have the whale tail and can actually drive it like its meant to be (which probably means you have invested in some really nice leather driving gloves and some serious driving sunglasses) ou will miss the actual beauty of the lens...

The lens is a beast.

I am going to sell mine and use the money to buy some other gear that are going to help get me to that level of shooting. Till then i'll let the more adept shooters handle the 85L II

A CANON. A FEW LENSES. MIAMI.

Thanks for the input - and a coloful description at that! :)

In the end, I did get the lens assuming and willing to accept that there will be a learning curve. I found that the learning curve (for me) wasn't horrible. I find myself overindulging in the open apertures - probably more than I should at this point... but I am sure that will reduce as the novelty of having a super fast lens will also reduce! :)

Congratulations!
The 85L II is like a wild horse, you have to know how to handle it.
But once you do, you will never look at another lens in the same way.
Yes, its both a blessing and a curse.

Enjoy it in great health.

Cheers!
