While out this morning taking photographs, I suddenly heard an awful racket. As I looked up to see what was the cause, just in time I saw these geese flying in formation towards me. It was all I could do to bring my camera up and take a couple of shots as they flew by.

Awful racket is right. And awful mess on my beach - but I love them anyway. Nice shots!

Thanks for the comments. I really was taken by surprise to see so many geese...and yes, the thought of having an umbrella near by did cross my mind. :D

It was fortunate that I had the 55mm lens on the camera at the time. A wider lens would have made the geese appear too far away and even a medium telephoto wouldn't have been able to capture so many birds at once.
