Hi again all of you,

Well, i decided to upload some of my old photos taken by my digital Hasselblad so i would like to see how can people pay with big files, and would like to see the power of those medium format can be, i saw amazing can be done with iPhone or those 35mm DSLRS, then how about digital medium format itself?

So here are links to those RAW files for you to show me your pp, blown me away please

I know the shots are not decent or interesting, but something is better than nothing, will upload 10 more RAW files later.

Photos are taken from my old Hasselblad H3DII-39 and current H4D-60 [H3DII is gone for H4D-60 purchase].

It would've been nice to see thumbnails of what the images are.

Edit: Are you sure this is from a Hass? No, offense, but I downloaded the last image in the list and it looks like it came from a point and shoot.

Edit 2: This is what a medium format file should look like:

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Thanks for the post.

Well, i didn't say i have very decent fantastic shots out of my Hassy, also i posted 2 shots that are wrong exposures, all that for the reason to see how someone can fix and get the best out of the medium format files even not great shot, the resolution and DR and tones making it superior to work with over most 35mm DSLRs.

In addition, those are just first 10 files, i chose 50 Hasselblad RAW files and was planning to upload 10 every while, if those are not worthy then i am afraid even the other you may not like as well and think they are just normal shot can be done with smaller formats, i can wait and see if some can work on them and what the final result can be.

Also the file you posted is from Phase One IQ180, it is 80mp and better DB than mine, even the shot is also normal can be done with P&S, it is like you want to compare about details or resolution quality, i am not asking for this in this thread.

I think that medium format's strength lies in producing better images that are already technically very refined, not in being able to fix tones better than DSLRs.

A camera like the $2,300 A7r would perform significantly better in worse shooting conditions than any medium format, but your H4D60 would be far superior locked down on a tripod, with ideal exposure and lighting at low ISO.

Well, there is the saying that "garbage in = garbage out", meaning that there will still be no difference after post processing compared the same shot on a smaller format. Your shot has to be ideal in technical quality for the difference to be visible.

In any case, the files are just too big for most people to wait around downloading them, it's better if you pick out the 5 best shots and leave it at that.

Also the file you posted is from Phase One IQ180, it is 80mp and better DB than mine,

It's not significantly better, 60 -> 80mp is a roughly 14% difference in resolution, you likely wouldn't notice except in a landscape with lots of detail or a test chart. The Hass is no slouch in the imaging department.

even the shot is also normal can be done with P&S, it is like you want to compare about details or resolution quality, i am not asking for this in this thread.

Now here is an interesting argument. From a compositional standpoint, yes even a P&S could "do" a shot like that, just as any camera in any format, but not with that aesthetic quality, resolution, and tonality; they're the only advantages medium format has over any other format in the first place.

So what are you asking for, exactly?

What i am asking for exactly is that some people would like to play with medium format files regardless how good they are technically or artistically, so leave the files i uploaded for those who are willing to play with and see what they can get out of them, if you only want to see high quality look of MF then you shouldn't be here, you can always go to those forums where many members posting photos or files from MF at best, and just stop showing that i shouldn't post anything here just for fun.

Also the members are not in rush, many these days have good internet speeds, and each file of those RAW are less than 100mb anyway, they are free to download one by one at anytime they want, i didn't ask members to download them now quickly and play with files now and post the results instantly and make this thread going in 20+ pages in 1-3 days.

In all cases, i understand your point that i should post the best shots from MF that will see the true advantage of MF over 35mm, sorry man, i bought this camera for fun and i didn't shoot it for professional photography and didn't use it much enough to have the best out of it, but that doesn't mean i should never post some photos out of them, and 50 RAW files are not that much if i post them in certain amounts [LIke 10/10... or 20/20/10......etc]

Medium format digital is very unforgiving when it comes to lighting. I thought I had made a huge mistake my first week with the Phase One. A lot of the lighting schemes I had used with 35mm looked terrible on MFD. Placement-wise, inches matter, single degrees of angle matter. Modifiers I liked on 35mm looked terrible with the Phase, and vice-versa. The Apollo boxes, for example. I don't care for them with my Canon, but I find they are nice with the Phase.

There are so many disadvantages with MFD compared to a modern 35mm system. The only two real advantages are the file quality, and that big, beautiful finder.

I couldn't agree more
