Gateway 22" at $100 http://www.tigerdirect.com …sp?EdpNo=8556570&csid=_61 (external link)

Acer 22" at $110 http://www.tigerdirect.com …No=4841118&Sku=A179-22000 (external link)

AOC 24" at $120 http://www.tigerdirect.com …8564560&Sku=ENS-101815161 (external link)

Photo editing and internet use. I dont want to go above the $120 mark we just dont have the funds but I am currently using a 10-15 year old 19" square monitor that just looks like crap.

If i had to choose I would just go with the biggest I could get for the money.

Cant swing $150? On the site thats the cheapest IPS monitor you can get. The IPS is well worth it to me. I have an Asus IPS monitor that was in the 140 range on sale.

wait for a good sale if $120 is all you can spend

Agree that IPS would be nice to have, unsure if any of those are IPS. To be fair I used an older TN panel for years that worked fine, and after calibration was quite accurate. I'm happy with my 22" Dell IPS LED monitor, I don't personally need anything larger for photo editing - though I only edit around 20,000 images per year now.

For what it's worth, I got the Acer 22" and all the whites turned a bright pink within three months.

Whether this happens often I can't say, but it definitely put me off Acer products.

whichever you get, try to borry someone's sypder or colormunki to calibrate the display. It may drift over time....but at least it will start of on target.

I actually just got that for my work desk and I like it a lot. And for the price, I might pick it up to have another one.
