Well, I feel silly. Should have thought of that.

Except that doesn't work.

Just turn the camera off before you remove the card and leave it off until after you insert the new card.

That's what I settled in doing!...

I know but that drive me nuts, to a point that I stop using the SD slot all together. My SD card is a lot slower than my CF card so I find out really quick that I'm shooting with the wrong card.

Ricky

It's driving me nuts, too, so I also stopped using the SD slot all together.

Okay, I got everything sorted out now.

The problem was neither the 5D3 nor the cards. It was the DSLR Remote Pro. Although it's a 2008 version, it still works and will continue to work EXCEPT it's not compatible with my newly acquired 5D3. The price for just upgrading the Remote Pro is now twice as much as what I had originally paid back in 2008. Still, I like the program so I upgraded it this morning and went right back to retaking all those lost shots with a vengeance -- some 500 shots!

Thanks guys for all your responses! :D

p.s. - it's still a mystery to me why, when shooting in "Auto ISO" setting, the burst shooting skips some shots here and there. I of course don't need to use the Auto ISO setting when burst shooting. It's just another annoying thing I'm discovering about 5D3...

Could it be because auto-iso is constantly changing? I noticed my high burst shooting slow down yesterday while using Av mode with auto iso...

Slow down or skipping, i.e., 2 images when you shot 3, etc.?
