**Blast from the past of 2010**

Having pushed the Sony H2 as far s I could, I began noticing the limitations it was enforcing - and hence the itch to buy a DSLR began, and after much research zeroed in on the Canon 450D, my cousin's hubby handed me his "paperweight" Canon 18-55mm. Decided we'd go out for a shoot and I suggested Yosemite - and quite surprisingly he agreed to the idea.

All batteries charged, and with my very first DSLR headed to the landscape made very famous by Ansel Adams himself. Each turn begged me to stop since I'd see a frame in it, but my co-shooter was having none of it. He wanted to replicate images of the well known frames, got me wondering "Do we really make images, or do we look to emulate/replicate all the time?"
Not having wheels of my own did hamper me and we stuck to the rather well-known vantage points/views

The famous "Tunnel view"

Don't underestimate the power of the 18-55. No lens that captures light clearly should be deemed "paperweight". Great captures

Great series, I'd like to make it to Yosemite some time in the near future, but seems my California trips always seem to be monopolized by visiting family instead.

Nice images. The reflection is great. The first image, Tunnel View, seems a little blue to me, maybe my monitor.

as others have said the reflection is very cool! Looks like an oil painting. Would look amazing framed on a wall!

Nice series. I am planning a trip to Yosemite in late April. I have been pondering a good overall landscape for my 5d.
