I like using window light and no other source as it makes it easier to get WB correct.

Like them both .... would also be good to see before and after to see what post processing did. If they are PP free, I bow and back away in awe.

I enjoy the contrast in the first image. The second image I have trouble with because the background is very similar to her body. The head looks as if it were floating.

^ I agree. #1 is the winner between these two.

Well, the white balance from the camera is correct.. I just tweaked the colors in post..

Nothing is photoshop free these days as far as i know.. the only thing I did in post was skin retouching, removing the corner in the BG and playing with the colors.. Here is the original.

Thank you for your opinion, and I have to agree in a way of another :)

No2 for me also.
I like the muted effect in No1, but the second has more 'bite' in terms of contrast and edge definition.
No2 has Mona Lisa eyes, which followed me round the screen
Great work on both using available light too

Tons of enthusiasm, loads of kit, limited skill...

I really like the first photo, the look, color, and contrast are great. Since I always appreciate something that needs improving in the feedback on my photos, I'll point something out on yours.

To me, her hair looks dry and straw like, especially on the left side where the light is hitting her face. I didn't notice it until you posted the original but now I can't unsee it. Her hair is rich and deep in the raw file but it lost that look in post. Maybe a style thing, or maybe something for us both to watch out for.

All in all, it's a great photo though!
