I've got a new 5D on the way and I've been reading the manual I found online and I've got a question about the AEB. I've started playing with HDR and I've read enough to know that the HDR function on the camera isn't what I want to use. With my 7D's I have to set the AEB bracketing and then after the first series of shots I have to use the dail on the back and set the next series for under exposure and then do the same for the over exposures.

It appears that I can have the 5d3 do a series of 7 AEB exposures automaticaly. Is this correct or do I have to continue what I've been doing with the 7D's ?

Thanks for your patience (I tried a search on the subject and didn't find an answer)
Steve

Thanks for the reply. I thought that's what I was seeing in the manual.

I'm confused. With AEB on your 7Ds, it will expose an image in the "middle" and one over exposed and one underexposed.

Are you just wanting more than three images?

For the 5D3, in the menu (C.Fn1:Exposure), you set the number of shots you want to take when using AEB. You can choose, 2, 3, 5, or 7. Then, later when you want to use AEB, you hit Q, navigate to the exposure compensation control, then turn the top dial to enable AEB and set the range of exposures. Based on the number of shots you selected in the CF menu, you will see that many number of lines spreading out from your current EC setting.
