Mostly females but I think the female, although less colorful, is prettier than the male which always look mean to me. Yes, the female can look a little "tough" at times but not near as often as the male does. Maybe it's the black on the eyes of the male. not for sure why, just my opinion.

Anyway here goes.......and of course there are some pretty mean looking females to contradict what I just said.....

Wonderful series, Mike! I tend to agree with your opinion about the female cardinal being the prettier one. Nice!
