Hi everyone, my first post so be nice! lol

I have loved photography for many years and for Christmas my partner bought me my first DSLR camera. The bundle consisted of the following:

Canon 600D
Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II
Canon 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

I am wanting to buy another lens

Wow.
One month later and your not happy.

What exactly are you hoping to gain that the three lenses you have cannot give you?

Is it reach?
Well you've be hard pushed to do better than the 55-250.
Is it width?
Well the 18-55 is ample. If you want wider, get the EFS 10-22.
Is it faster for low light?
Err surely that's where the EF50 and it's f/1.8 aperture is going to be used.

How does the 24-105 make the 18-55 redundant? He would lose a considerable amount of width.

You're right, I was thinking of moving from crop to ff. I was purchasing a 17-40 for my 6D today and realized it would only really be of use on the ff as the kit lens of the sl1 is not that bad overall, think I confused myself:oops:

At least that is my excuse and I am sticking with it;)

The 17-40 on full frame is lots of fun. On the crop, its okay but there are better options.

I love my 24-105, it is an amazing lens I used it as a walk around lens in my 6D and use it for team shots. Even at low light with a small bit of flash it did great at 1/30 shutter speed as you can see blow, tiny bit if motion blur but useable.

For sure, the kit lens on the SL 1 is not to my liking. But this would be for my 6d and could be used on the SL 1. Right now I just rin the 50 1.4 on the Sl1 and have no intention of buying other crop lenses.

This is exactly what I thought when I read the OP, there's no way you can determine what you think you need after a month

Enjoy what you have for little bit longer then reevaluate your needs
