Only person in the family with an DSLR, how do I say NO to do a family member wedding

Step 1: buy the same camera model as you own, used and broken for a few dollars off Craigslist or ebay
Step 2: bust it up some more if the fact that it's non-functional doesn't really show
Step 3: leave it on your coffee table or somewhere conspicuous, and bend everybody's ear about how you're heartbroken that you broke your camera
Step 4: stop sharing pictures on FB until the wedding
Step 5: pretend you had a windfall

Easier said than done...

I mean sure, say NO but just throw bunch of techno camera lingo in there and more than likely their brain would be too confused to comprehend and will accept the easier term instead. Done deal!

First "if" you are asked tell them you're flattered. However you have to decline because of the thousands of dollars you would have to invest to take wedding photos. And stand by your decision telling them it's for their own good. Then recommend a local photographer if you know one.
