I also got the email, so Amazon Student is going up to $49 from $39. Mine will renew on the 15th still under the old price, but in 2015 it will be renewed for $49. (That's pretty much the gist of the email)

Mar 13, 2014 11:33 | #107 Is there anyway to add a year at $79 right now? But I admit I'll still be around when it goes to $120. I come here for your expert opinion. Please do not hesitate to critique or edit.

Bilderknipser Senior Member More info | You could look under "Manage Prime Membership". I couldn't see it under mine, but it renews in 2 days anyway. I thought it went to $99 not 120? Carmen

Bilderknipser Senior Member More info | I'm not sure if I will renew once I can't take advantage of student pricing anymore. I don't order that much these days, I compared prices on a few things I recently bought and Amazon was more expensive after adding tax, so I just got it locally. Carmen

Mar 13, 2014 13:42 | #114 that's a tiny increase over the year, I'll keep it. I order a lot from them and like the two day shipping. 40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things
