Or is it my host?

I noticed a few high quality images that I had on my webhost and embedded here were loading at a MUCH lower quality in the thread itself. I was using Photobucket with the same images and blamed them at first. I moved them to my host but the same quality loss is occurring. It's an obvious loss because even the actual data size (kb) is far smaller.

Is POTN doing some kind of trickery or is my host actually damaging them?

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

It's your host. All POTN does is pass your host's URL on to your browser. It's between your hosting service and your browser to agree on getting the image down. I do understand that some of the hosting services compress certain image sizes before serving them up. ISTR, but am not positive I recall correctly, that PhotoBucket was one.

That's how I knew it to always work and I didn't think POTN had the ability, but I'm just trying to narrow it down. Thanks. I haven't always had this problem with my host so I'll be b*tching them out shortly. The real problem is this is my web site's host and not just a file dump site, so it's disconcerting.
