I like the PP with this image.

Imho i think it is a touch over exposed and i think if you were to bring the flash closer to soften the light, it would help.

Couple of slight hot spots but nothing that is a show stopper.

Great image. Well done.

Nice. Consider cropping away the left side of the image to just past the picture on the wall. It is distracting imo and competes for the viewers attention. If you crop that I think it will be a killer image.

I agree that the frame on the front right side is distracting but I don't think a crop will work. What I love about this image is that my eye "slides" from the left until it hits the model. I WANT to focus on the left side of the frame, but the focus drags my eye back to her. The frame is like a rock in the river- It holds me up.

These are nit picky things- the image is amazing.

Thank you guys.

I have always been using soft light and diffusers, but lately I am into hard light I think it is harder to achieve the look you are after but ones you get it it is really special and has the pop. This shot was taken under ambient light and I used only a bare 430ex flash.

On the other hand, regarding the over exposure.. My screen is calibrated and I don't find it over exposed to my taste. I always wondered if there is a methodical way to identify the hot spots?

I just tried cropping it and it worked with 4:3. I hope you like it like that and consider it a killer image :) I guess it still worked because the leading lines of the stairs are still leading us to the subject.

QUOTED IMAGE

The question is, do YOU consider it a killer image? (for the record, yes I do! To me this is a huge improvement and really a great image)

Don't crop it. The shape on the left gives a nice balance to the image.

The reason I like the un-cropped version better is you have this wonderful circle that starts at the arc in the piece on the wall and continue to the woman and continues down her arm to her hand and back to the art piece. In the crop you break that wonderful movement.

Because of the DOF, I like it un-cropped, much more balanced in my view.
