Club & allround photography : 24-105 f4L IS vs Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC ?

Clubphotography (party with lighteffects) is always with external flash so I don't need f2.8, both lenses have IS/VC for filming also. For this there seams to be an advantage for the Canon.

Concerning allround photography (daytrip family like Disneyland,...) is there a big difference in IQ/Bokeh between the 2 for portraits the Tamron f2.8 vs the Canon f4?

Is the f4 bokeh nervous or can you compensate with the extra longer focal range between 70-105 to make the background more washed out ? Longer focal length makes the bokeh softer or more washed out I heard once.

I had the 24-105 long time ago, I do remember it suffered a lot of correctable vignetting.

I'll always prefer a fast aperture zoom over a slow one.

Just found the answer : Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC really it the best despite the smaller range, just don't let it fall bad like in the end

If you check the review with the IQ differences, you feel the 24-105 really needs an update.
So i'll stick with the Tamron.

one week exactly from the time they recieved it from the time i received it. very impressed.

I had two copies of the Tamron, both had to go back, but other than the (same) fault i was very happy with them...except for the AF speed.
On paper the Tamron looks like a winner, but comparing it to my 24-105L i was getting less keepers in low light, and a lot less in AI Servo mode. The Tamron just couldn't keep up with my 5DMKIII in servo mode, even in good light.
At home i found AF to be off when shooting in low light, but all proper focus tests (FoCal, Moire test) showed it was fine, so it became too unreliable.

As the OP mentions low light club photography i thought i would post my thoughts and experience.
