Maybe my brain is foggy from age, but I need some help figuring this out.

I'm about to convert my 498CR2 head to Arca-Swiss using a Desmond DBA-1 (external link). This will take care of a two part problem I have and also allow me to slowly convert to Arca-Swiss.

At the same time I'm putting together a BlackRapid solution seen here (external link).

I just picked up a used RRS L-Plate also. L-Plates are new to me and why I'm a bit thrown off. Same goes for Arca-Swiss, since I've always used Bogen/Manfrotto proprietary clamps/plates.

My question is, can I use the DBA-1 for both solutions or am I missing something?

Thanks for any help.

Dear Ynot,

Yes, the Desmond DBA-1 will grip and hold anything that is Arca-Swiss compatible. It will grip your "L" plate and any other Arca-Swiss plates you come across.

Regards,

Tim Murphy :D

Thanks Tim. I ordered one, we'll see how it goes.
