I'm shooting with a 1D3, using 580 EXII with a Yongnuo 622C trigger. I found that I could use one trigger on my camera, with a Cactus V2s trigger (manual) with the transmitter on top of the 622c, and receiver on the 270. It works; but because I can't adjust the 270, it is way too bright.

Any ideas? (aside from just picking up an extra 622C?)

I have a Vivitar 285HV as well, was going to try using it instead on the 270 tomorrow, as a backlight.

Thanks!

The 270EX is a TTL-only flash; it has no Manual setting capability. It can't be retro-fitted with the required electronics.

Watch out for the 285HV - many with that label have a high control voltage which will kill the YN622C dead, instantly.

Actually, the 270EXII is a eTTL; but only though the camera, or a wireless trigger. My 285HV has the lower voltage, I've used it for years. Was just ready for eTTL metering!
