this article talks about the new halal/kosher slaughter ban in Denmark (same country as the giraffe incident). It's focus is in part the amazing ability we humans have to turn a blind eye to the horrors of the confined animal feeding operations (CAFO) that put insanely cheap meat on our table for virtually every meal.

I'm not sure where I stand on the giraffe. Rather than seeing it as a business decision, I see it as a scientific endeavor. And as might be implied by my posting of the above article, no where near the ridiculousness of the billions upon billions of incidents of mistreatment of animals by our food supply chain.
