Any suggestions for a good across body shoulder bag? I need something to carry my 70D with the 17-55 and the 70-300L.. And have a separate area for day supplies for kids. I would probably never carry the entire kit in it, this is more for going out on an outing type of thing. Could also get an insert for a non-camera bag...

Cameras: 7D2, S100
Lenses: 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM, 18-135 STM, 24-70 f/4L IS USM, 50 f/1.4 USM,70-300L IS USM
Other Stuff: 430 EX II, Luma Labs Loop 3, CamRanger

ThinkTank CityWalker 20. Just did a review on this on my site. You're able to remove the inner insert and use it just as a "messenger" bag.

This is the shoulder bag I use (and I always wear it across the body)

Inexpensive and fits a TON if you need it to.

I use the Tamrac Rally 6 (external link) (in brown/tan) and absolutely love it. My kit is the 70D, EF-S 18-55mm STM & 18-135mm IS (<-- in main section) plus a hood for the 135, charger, USB cable, extra P&S (for the kiddo) (<--in front pocket). There is the main slot for the body + lens, plus two lens slots. One holds the not-in-use lens and the other usually holds snacks & a drink for said kiddo. As long as your supplies will fit in an area for one long lens, you're good to go. :)

I've used the Crumpler 6M and have a 7 Million Dollar Home right now and I never use it cross body unless I have to as I just don't find it comfortable but my bag is generally loaded. I don't find the strap pad particularly comfortable.

I have this as well. It works pretty well, especially when you add the postal pad from Domke. I also have a Timbuk 2 Medium Classic Messenger that I can move the insert to if I decide I need to.

I would agree if fully loaded, but he said one body and two lenses. Mines not bad with just that in it.

I have the 160, and personally think it is enough as a all day walkaround bag. It fits the 7D and my 4 lenses (the two smaller lenses occupy the same compartment), with space for a flash, and my Nexus 7. On holiday in Rome last year, I would spend all day walking around with the camera, 2 lenses and the Nexus and that was plenty of weight. So unless you really need the extra space, I would be careful about getting something too big for real portability.

As a bag, they are superb, discrete, weather proof, comfortable and with clever design decisions like the magnetic flap for quiet opening.

I got the Lowepro, found it at my local camera shop and they price matched B+H. Even the 200 isn't that huge. With my 70D facing down with either of the two lenses and the second lens next to it I still have just less than 1/2 of the main compartment free for other things. It doesn't stick out from my body too far and sits under my arm at a comfortable angle. The shoulder pad is really thick and seems to hold the weight well. Now we just have to try it with everything else we want to pack in it to make sure it works for what we need it for, but it is looking good so far.

I do really like the design and as usual Lowepro has thought of the little details, like you mention the magnetic or velcro to secure the main flap, the removable handle, and inside the little side pockets, etc. And the rain cover if things go badly.
