Let's say that a person the default forum setting that subscribes me to every thread I've posted in. Now let's also say that person has thousands of posts. How does one go about unsubscribing from several thousand posts?

I can do 30 at a time scrolling through the subscriptions page, but I have 150+ pages of them. I don't really want to go through them all manually.

I'm curious as to why you would want to be unsubscribed? There is really no burden to being subscribed that would make it worth the effort to mass unsubscribe.

Well it's not worth the effort if it's more than a couple clicks. That's why I was asking if there was a better way.

At the righthand side of the title line of the list of subscriptions is a checkbox. Select that to select all subscriptions.

it selects all from that page. I'd have 150+ more pages to do that on.

Ah, that's why it can handle my 4 subscriptions without issue. :D

Wait until we get AMASS. I'm sure that will have something for you :D

I think they are only listed on one table in the database, so deleting all your subscriptions should be easy there - let me know if you want to get rid of them all.

In AMASS there will be an importer for "old POTN" subscribed threads where you can also select which ones to import.

Automatic subsciption in vBulletin creates large lists in time, in AMASS you are asked if you'd like to follow the thread when you post on new thread - that should reduce unneeded ones greatly. Also, all your own threads are automatically followed and they are on a separate list.

If you want to not to subscribe by default, go to your Control Panel (Top Left: User CP) then go to Edit Options > Default Thread Subscription Mode, there is an option where you can either not subscribe, no email notification (this will appear in your Control Panel only), and options for instant, daily or weekly email notifications (depending on your urgency to get an answer for the latter three, then you will get email notifications. As I don't want to clutter up my email inbox with a load of threads, most nonsensical to subscribe, I tend to use a mixture of "do not subscribe", "no email notification" or "instant email notification", the latter is only when I want someone to reply urgently to a question, but it's up to you if you want to leave it as it is
