Lots of back and forth action in this game, resulting in some good goalie shots and players in motion. Oh, and a bloody face.

The look from above gives me a "spectator-feeling", not a "sports-photographer-feeling" Tried to get lower in the seats and shoot through the glass? --

The reason I do not shoot on the glass is for a few reasons; www.ReicherStudios.com

I'm shooting for a JrA organization and I'm getting tied of shooting through the glass. I usually shoot from the middle rows where the video guys hangout and I'm finding my 70-200 is too short. Doesn't the rink have netting around the boards? Canon 1D MKIV, 1D MKIII, Canon 70-200 f2.8, Canon 400 f2.8, Canon 16-35mm f2.8.

BTW, great shots always enjoy looking at your work. Thanks for the compliments. I do not use a ladder, as I shoot from the area between the upper and lower bowls. They have seating in this area which are "executive boxes" that can be purchased by the season. Typically companies buy them and give the seats to employees. Most of the time they are not occupied and I sit in these seats. Although this photo is not mine, I have the permission of the photographer, who also happens to shoot for the team, to use it. If you look at the concourse area between the lower and upper bowls, that is typically the area I shoot from. It's hard to see but if you look just behind the very last row of the lower bowl there are boxes in a few sections. My shots are typically taken 2-3 sections to the right of where this picture was taken from. www.ReicherStudios.com

im still struggling with editing these so i dont have noise, muddiness, or blown out highlights. ive got some learning to do yet... these were all over the glass (short) from my ladder.. -im just trying. sometimes i succeed

Watching CAN vs FIN and I was surprised to see the photogs shooting through the glass so I guess no one can find a ladder in Sochi. not sure what you mean by "... didnt look to save."
focused on the glass and purposely under exposed to capture the crap... -im just trying. sometimes i succeed
